Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Kharangon, South Gissar. M.R. Jalilov, 1968 (190, p.43). Stratotype near the village of Kharangon. Included in the Karikansay Mountain (56; 189; 452).

Synonym: Kharangon Suite, Харангонская св., Harangon Fm


Lithology and Thickness

Gray, greenish-gray sandstones, gray sandy clays, mottled with layers of siltstone (aleurolites) and marls. Thickness 58-70m.


Lithology Pattern:

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the Duobak Fm

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by the Tagarin Fm.
